The US 1200s (71-73) have the hazard light switch as in this photo. It's placed on top of the steering column, behind the wheel.

I will have one..That's why I bought it...

Is there a dress bezel that fits over the top?
I'll have to talk to Nissan about that. I'd also like to get a LHD column cover. I might want to put the blinker stalk on the other side, just to be different.

Chris.

Re: LHD indicator stalk and hazard switch
David,

That's the way..now it makes more sense. The LHD ones don't have 2 holes. ie. one for the hazard switch to poke through, and the other for "who knows what".

If you see the picture of the hazard switch unit, you'll see that the metal bracket has 2 holes in the other other end, this is to hold more switches for a purpose unknown to me.

In the RHD models the plastic casing that goes around the steering column has 2 holes in it, and for models without a hazard switch, it has a plastic plug/bezel piece that clicks into the 2 holes on the top of the casing. So the LHD models don't need something to fill the second hole, because the LHD model only has one hole for the hazard switch to come through.

I hope this explains what I was going on about.

So, after I've fitted the hazard switch, I need to cleanly cut out a rectangular piece of thin black plastic sheeting and glue it over the "extra hole" and have it present the hazard switch in a factory like way.

Cheers,
Chris

I wonder what those extra holes are for. This JDM picture shows the "something" is there -- but it's not clear enough to make out what it is:

JDM B110 GX Coupe

I notice it this GX also has plastic around the the ignition key cylinder ... a rear defrost knob ... and what appears to a separate radio console to the left of the main console.

2129 GX trim

Here are some regular RHD models, I see the plastic column cover is shaped more bulkily than the LDH cover.

Re: LHD indicator stalk and hazard switch
OK, the extra two holes in the Hazard switch metal bracket are for "Parking" switches, all the JDM models had this. Not sure how it was use in operation.

As noted, the USA upper cover only had a hole to let the one Hazard button show, while JDM upper cover was cut for all three buttons.

The T/S switch is same RHD and LHD. It clamps to the column, so can be rotated 180 degrees.
