After many failed attempts at finding an original fuel tank, I found this one. I almost did Fanta injection, but this is a mere Coka Cola canister... Found it while dumping some garden refuge. It's slightly one the small sid, holds only 18 liters, but if I find an original tank, I'll just feed that into this one, and this will act as a giant swirl tank. Will have to pickle some extra juice with when going out. Bolted down properly, it won't go anywhere.

Pump is a 6 bar 180l/h one I got from a VW shop. Battery not yet bolted down, this one is almost shot, and is my Mazda double cab's old one, want to get a slightly smaller one.

Tank being held by ring at top and bottom. Top ring held by to gussets that goes to rear parcel shelf, and pulled down with some threaded rod. Bottom ring held down by twin nuts outside and inside on threaded rod.

kulula.
Did you talk to the local traffic department about rules of battery fitment in the boot?
(You are going to make the car road legal as far as I know)
Is there not a rule like in Australia about battery must be enclosed in a box that vents battery gases to the outside through a breather pipe?

I am also tempted to put my battery in the boot at a later stage. It just makes the engine bay look neater and less cluttered.

Yes, the battery must be enclosed in a box, already bought one too, just need to get a smaller battery that will actually fit inside it. This is a huge battery intended for use with a big diesel engine/vehicle, it's shot anyway holds it's charge for no more than a day, and will be the trade in. They don't allow you to race at events if it's exposed like this, or rather, shouldn't allow you... The rear bulkhead will also be closed of with either aluminium plate or mild steel sheeting, depending on how deep my pockets are this afternoon, so that no fire will be able to get in the cabin in the event of an ac/incident.

Still need to get my fire extinguisher too.

Someone came to my house, and their first reaction was, "That's a big bottle of NOS!!!"...*hehehe*

I'm still looking for an original tank, so if any of the ZA members sees one, let me know. I've checked it out, and the top of this tank is slightly higher than the original tank, and it's bottom way lower than the original. The brackets have been made so as to not interfere with the original, so if I find one, I'll fit it, and let it flow directly into this one via a big fat pipe. This will then serve as a giant swirl pot, and kill any worries about leaning out. So even if the gauge shows empty, there will still be a bit of juice in the bottom of this one. Taking a wild guess, I would say it should contain about 8 - 10 liters bellow the original's bottom.

Together they should give me a reasonable reach, as I think it's going to be a tad bit on the thirsty side...
