Just an update.
The 1400 bakkie is not in production anymore. Nissan has or is stopping production of the bakkies' due to some reason this year. Parts I think will however be still available for us until, ummmm, I think the end of time?

 Re: My 2006 Ute
By the looks of things they've made the cab a bit longer to, the rear firewall is completely different to the 'old' 1200 utes. notice how the window is coming out of the back rather than recessed like the older model (plus its sliding)
The A pillar where the side grills are seem to be a bit thicker towards the top to by the looks of things, all good upgrades for the ute! more room, bigger engine, 5 speed what more could you want! oh and u get new panels too

nice example mate

 Re: My 2006 Ute
GX1200man is correct Nissan has stopped the production run of the 1400 Bakkie. But parts will be availible until the end of time as every second or third bloke here has a 1400 nissan bakkie. Nissan stopped the Ute run because they are wanting to bring out a nissan front wheel drive half ton van. Most of Nissan customers are fighting against this. Nissan SA are still selling the old 1400 Ute as they still have stock, but they are not going to last long. See the 1400 Bakkie page on www.nissan.co.za
under commercial vechiles.
FYI: the sliding window is not a origanal part it is aftermarket. I myself will be wanting to buy a new Nissan 1400 champ as soon as mine is payed off, so all nissan fans, protest agianst the new front wheel drive models.

Yes the roof is higher. This was one of the upgrades Nissan SA did to the Ute's, to make them more comfortable.
