If this is the first Datsun dealership in the US, then who sold those 1000cc cars in 1959/60 I wonder.

"c. 1972" is the date the photo was taken.

I just happen to have my copy of "Nissan Datsun" by John B. Rae here in my luxurious Datto Den. Let me check...ok, it says on page 20:Quote:
one shipment of cars [from Woolverton Motors, a Goggomobile and other small car distributor] included a Datsun, a 1000 cc sedan, which Lemke [of San Diego] accepted as part of the consignment. To his skilled mechanic's eye, it was the best vehicle in the asssortment, and so he began to sell Datsuns on October 8, 1958.


About the prior of Woolverton, page 18 says:Quote:
After reviewing the applications...Nissan selected...[May 15, 1958] Marubeni the importer and Woolverton Motors of North Hollywood, California, distributor for [Western US region]
