im sure your glad i got that chrome front bar finally..

the wheel centres and outers are 2nd hand, but freshly polished so good as new, and all the inners are new

5.5inch fronts and 6.5inch rears

The wheels and the new chrome has completely transformed this car, looks soooo good now!!

thanks at first i think i just wasnt used to it, but the look is growing on me. got chrome taillight surrounds in there now too.

anyone know if original 1200 mirrors were chrome from factory? seen some on ebay that are supposedly original but not chrome.

or can anyone reccomend some good looking chrome mirrors from another vehicle that use the same mounting holes as i dont want to drill my doors.

That looks much better, chrome looks great on datos especially straight ones.

I tried putting sunny (B310) chrome mirrors on my daily, the holes dont line up, I redrilled holes because my cars a hacker and I dont care.

Did retro wheels do the wheel rebuilds for you? The ute looks fantastic BTW....

nah chrome wipers would be too much i think. prob just go silver on them aswell as the side pillar vents.

at the moment the mirros are still black as are the vents so theyre not that alone

Yeah keep the wipers black.. you want to contrast with other colours and not get donminated by chrome or one colour!... like mine i have black vents, inside grille, rear bumpers, red car and chrome in all the usual spots!.. its the way to go. You have done well Ange.
With mirrors, you could go bullet mirrors like on my ute or you could keep stock ones. i tihnk stock ones in new black paint would be fine.

are your wipers the push on arms or screw on ones ?? might be able to help you out with some nice clean unpainted wipers if they're the SCREW ON type

nah he wants the screw on type, so i can have his push on ones coz my passengers side one is broken

Are 1200 p/o wipers same as a 1000's? I have a spare if you need one pigdog. I think its unbroken? ill have to check for ya

hmmm im not familiar with the 2 types.

im assuming mine are the push on type since you push them onto the splines then put the bolt in? or is that screw in type?

are they interchangeable?

there's the ones that are held onto the spline buy a bolt and the others that hold themselves onto the spline with no bolt ....
i have a set of the BOLT ON ones

go all chrome except the vents (paint those bumperettes to while your there) try them in silver maybe a bit duller than the chrome.

You need to swap the whole wiper assm.

Thats not too fun either, the screws on each pivot mount thingo will round out real quick as the threads will be rusty on the waterbox side, rustoff is your friend.

Im pretty sure the aussie assembled 1200's have the lucas wiper motor with the push on wipers, the jap assembled with hitachi have the nut.

i'll retract what i've said about which arms i have .... on the car i have the push on type on the shelf i have a set of the screw on ones !!! at least i had a set
only thing i cant find just know is the screws/bolts ??

wont be going chrome on the wipers or vents. and im leaving the rear bumperettes as theyre rubber and paint on them looks tacky to me.

whitesedan, the worst is that you cant even drill the screw out as it soon melts the wiper doover

on the lucas wiper motor thing, both my sedans had lucas motor and one is push on the other is screw on

they look just like your black ones but satii alloyish ?? give me five mins and i'll take a dodgy phone pic and sms ....

Haven't got around to saying how sweet the ute is looking....the polish on those rims is almost blinding!
