if not the heat will make a horrible smell and then flake off as it burns.....

![](http://datsun1200.com/images/icons/no_posticon.gif) Re: exhaust painted Yes it is high temp, but as dodgeman pointed out if all the rust was not removed (which I must admit it wasn't) it will be back to rust in no time. I am learing as I go, thats why I joined this site....Thanks all

![](http://datsun1200.com/images/icons/no_posticon.gif) Re: exhaust painted Its too bad there seems to be no such thing as a long lasting high temp paint. Only thing that seems to work over the long term is ceramic coating.

![](http://datsun1200.com/images/icons/no_posticon.gif) Re: exhaust painted It sure looks nice, but unless you sandblasted every particle of rust from the manifold, I fear that the paint job will not last very long as the rust will soon return. At least, that's been my experience.

![](http://datsun1200.com/images/icons/no_posticon.gif) Re: exhaust painted Good point. Just trying to get her back on the street for a bit before I do the whole round. Have another a12 block to build and a friend that is building a rotissire (how do you spell that?), have floor issues and some front end apron and core support work needed.
