a previous owner has shifted the engine mount on the left side...why? im pretty sure its still a12 but i think i read somewhere bout the engine mounts shifting in newer models?!? is this true

Yeah they have fitted a A12 from a sunny or 120y. You can now fit a A14 or A15 without any mods maybe just use the engine mounts from the motor you pulled out.

Simmo, what year is your ute?

It looks to me like it is a new ute (1974-up) and modified to fit an older engine (1967-1973 A-series engine).

1978...i think something like that anyway tho by the looks of the rust its wouludnt surprise me if it were 1878 i also have what i think is an older model (the battery tray is on an angle in the corner i have the motors out of both the mounts seem to be in different places.
