Note he shock mount is bent upwards, this can only be because the axle is twisting inside the u-bolts, and bending them. I'm going to add some wedges and weld them in, to prevent this from happening.

Kaluladotgroen, I do agree that these tramp rods will work better and will be silent. The slapper bars seem to make a hell of a noise while accelarating.

I will replace the shocks first, and see what happens, but I'll do the tramp rods anyway as they have other qualities associated with them, which are good even if you are only trying to eliminate axle tramp.

Velocity, slapper bars work to an extent, but they don't perform as good as tramp rods, and i personally thing they don't look all that good, almost half@ssed, but that's just my opinion... With tramp rods the rods push forward and upwards on the car, lifting the nose, and effectively shifting more weight onto the rear wheels, instant extra traction. Also as they are pushing forward on the car, they are pulling backwards on the leaves at the same time, this in effect creates a 4-link suspension, something which is very desirable under any circumstances. Furthermore you can more carefully control pinion angle, something which has also been shown to do damage to sprint times if not done properly.

If you go to this link chassis stuff, they explain how the various systems work, on this page the tramp rods are named slide-a-link.

Re: Shock mount bent for thread...
At the moment I put around 200HP or 146KW on the rear wheels. However, this should go up a bit in the coming weeks or so. I want to have a proper mandrel bent exhaust installed and do some work to the boost pipes. Mainly on the pipe before the intercooler, as this is a little small, but I might just replace he lot with aluminium, atm they are made out of normal exhaust tubing...

After all of that it's going for another session on the dyno, to get it tuned properly with the new zorst, IC pipes and flywheel.

I Think Thats the way they were made. By having that peice curving up like that, theres no chance of it binding on the spring. (I have two diff housings the same)

Having thought of it some more, it might simply be because the axle twists over backwards, in fact looking at it, I don't think the axle would turn in the u-bolts at all...

Will look for some control arms similar to the ones PIGDOG used, and manufacture my tramp rods.

tramp bars just cover up the problem.

are your shocks in good condition?
spring eye bushes?
if so, a reverse half leaf added to the top of the pack would be a better and easier way to fix it.

Agreed, but tramp rods have been proven to give better traction, even if you have good shocks and stuff. You also hit the nail on it's head there, I'm still running the car with the shocks in the back that I bought it with. They will be replaced as soon as I do the rods though. And it runs to hig in the back, I'll either add the reverse leaf or some spacing blocks to lower it. Ride height in the front is good as it is.

replace the shocks first - you might not need the tramp rods.
