this is my 1200 coupe clubcar at the upper hairpin,in 1992.not me driving,& just a harmless little spin after a break lock up.someone once asked on this site what i meant by 'death-on-a-stick'.well this track is a good example, too good to stay away from, but pretty deadly if it goes wrong. |

Re: king edward park hillclimb, newcastle, nsw yeah me 2, looks good, shouldnt have told us it was a spin, it looks like rally style driving, sliding it into the corner i wonder when i get into circuit if im gonna drive the conventional way or rally style sliding into corners a bit, i know, i know, the conventional way is most likely quickest on the black stuff

Re: king edward park hillclimb, newcastle, nsw You're absolutly right!! it is a good track to race on but if you stuff up you have the potential to end up in the ocen, after about 70 metre drop! i'm originally from newy and have done many laps around it, not on race day(matarra hillclimb) me and the boys used to have time trials(illegel of course) until everyony in newcastle caught onto the idea, even the police! do the drags out at kooragang still happen every weekend? that was good to go and watch, if anyone happens to be in newy on a weekend go and check them out.

Re: king edward park hillclimb, newcastle, nsw Hey Steveo, they still Drag out there some times, but they have a few different spots now, one is cooragang under stoko bridge, the other is at oyster cove road, umm, there racing on the link road ( its new) and it goes from wallsend to sum where i think, i havent been to those yet, and they race out here at medowie on the main road..... But You would have to go into town and talk to people who are gunna drag..... I went a few weeks back with a mate for about an hour, there was a KID on a quad ( banshee i think) and he was dragging EVERYONE! he o nly got beaten once and that was by a skyline! i want a quad now are u going to be at the next mattara Hill climb? i should be there.
