What is the round thing tucked up under the passenger side of dash? It is above the speaker on the very side of the body (above the kick panel).

Ah thanks. Funny, if its measuring temperature I would have though they'd want outside temperature rather than inside. Although with a 1200 there's not much difference until the heater (eventually warms up

I don't know about your heater, but after a major cooling system overhaul back when I got the car, my heater puts out some heat within a mile [1.6k] & the temp guage shows 'normal' reading within about 2 miles [3.2k], even in mid winter.

With the heater at full output, it's geting time to knock the heat back a bit within about 5 or 6 miles [8 to 9.6k]
Perhaps your heater core needs servicing.

OK, I have to knock the heater back by the time I get to work. Lately it has been around freezing and the heater output is fine.

I just (sometimes) think it would be nice to have a less drafty car.
