 Re: 1200rallycar
pretty excited, road worthy test on thursday, then reg

first event 16th of feb

good to be back into rallying as a driver!

and awesome to spend the time and money to build a car properley rather than my usual shoe string budget builds that i never have time to finish to a good standard (it helps having two or three people working on it)

i just purchased a vid camera too so should be providing some good footage

 Re: 1200rallycar
unfortunately have to stick to an a12 block, and have stock capacity at the moment.

will add more details later

lightforce are converted to HID, we were going to run 4 of them but decided to go with the rallye4000 for the second pair for a better spread light

I thought PRC was allowed to use an a14 block?

roughly 1400 capacity, pretty sure not the block though so anyone that wants that does a Dodgeman A12+2

 Re: 1200rallycar
you are allowed a block up to 1370cc, but a14 is 27cc too big.

 Re: 1200rallycar
The 17% max increase rule only applies if you are changing to another family engine. which is why CAMS have ruled out the A14 (more than 17% bigger than A12) but with the PRE86 freedom you could put an A15 crank in your A12 block and bore it out to 77mm upping your capacity to 1550cc~ish. this is all legal but if you go over 1400cc you are now PRC2 instead of PRC1.

This is why the new family engine rule is so crap, it was meant to save money for compeditors but instead of a cheap A14 you need to have an expensive hybrid A12/A14/A15. and CAMS cant see why people are leaving rallying.?

is it getting full rego for the road?

that'd be cool its set to be a great all rounder!

good luck at the events!

from what ive seen you and your bro do a fair job of steering around a rally track, should be very competitve in this beast!
