 Re: Thick paint I just started paint stripping my spare GX bonnet to re paint and put on my granny cruiser and Ive found five layers of paint. A cream, a few layers of primer and the original colour which was a light yellow... would have looked good in its day.

Lucky you, 2 gx bonnets, i'm hanging out for the fibre gx bonnets. Is the stocker getting a full respray or just the bonnet?

 Re: Thick paint yup. And i said i would never do it again after my 260Z... Then AGAIN after the red 1000 and what have i done? Started another f-ing project! But this is a ratwagon so a quick snad and bog then paint the bloody thing!

 Re: Thick paint i feel your pain i tryed paint striper but it makes a big mess but my best tool is the electic sander next project is getting soda blast ed for shore the coupe had off white then blue then blue agen then primer but i guess the pain of sanding is overlooked when its a gx bonnart
