I just started paint stripping my spare GX bonnet to re paint and put on my granny cruiser and Ive found five layers of paint. A cream, a few layers of primer and the original colour which was a light yellow... would have looked good in its day.

Mine has about that many layers but they are all safari yellow!

Lucky you, 2 gx bonnets, i'm hanging out for the fibre gx bonnets. Is the stocker getting a full respray or just the bonnet?

yeh the thou im rubbing down atm has dark blue-primer-light blue-primer-white-primer then original white! And a bit of bog in the middle.

yup. And i said i would never do it again after my 260Z... Then AGAIN after the red 1000 and what have i done? Started another f-ing project! But this is a ratwagon so a quick snad and bog then paint the bloody thing!

i feel your pain i tryed paint striper but it makes a big mess but my best tool is the electic sander next project is getting soda blast ed for shore the coupe had off white then blue then blue agen then primer but i guess the pain of sanding is overlooked when its a gx bonnart

i agree next project will be soda blasted, sick of using stripper and it burning the fuk out of you.
