It is a bit of a worry when the Moderator of a Datsun forum's idea of a toolkit is 5 different sizes of Zip Ties. You crazy Americans crack me up!

lest we not forget... zip-ties can be traced back straight to the space shuttle program.... so it's by no means low-tech... as matter of fact it's as high tech as you can get, along with ducktape and a couple of other things....

If it's tight and it shouldn't be, use WD-40. If it's loose and it shouldn't be, use gaffa tape (in your case DD, zip ties). For all other problems use a hammer and if that doesn't work you've got an electrical problem

Well I suppose if the only function of the ties are to keep it on the bolt sticking out, then there is no reason why they shouldn't last for some time. It would be a bit more dodgy if the zorst was only hanging from the ties though...

We fitted a Leyland bus' radiator cap to our A14 powered Mazda bakkie once, on the way to the fishing waters. It was eventually sold still with the Leyland cap on there...
