 Re: GX Drums
Just to put closure to this thread.
These drums fit the B10, B110, B210, & B310 cars but are not a 'standard' part on ANY model that used or was based on a B series bodyshell.
They are not listed in any of the Competition parts catelogue's either so they were never offered as a race part over the counter.

Now, under the counter, that's a different story & it seems to be where they came from so Stirlingmac has it stitched up.
Thanks to MatBighat there are now a pair of these in Australia

 Re: GX Drums
Correct me if im wrong but arent those Z Car Aluminium Drums?? If so, these are too big for a 1200, you will need to fit 180b or 1600 or stanza etc. drums for these to fit over. But then im not sure, they could be smaller and off a GX.

NO NO NO.

They can't be GX drums. Not in any parts book I know! They might be Nissan motorsport options..maybe.

More likely B210 specials? Or 1967+ sports 2000/fairlady?

They aren't Z-car ones...

 Re: GX Drums
Lighter drums mean less unsprung weight and better handling. Also the alloy disipates heat more quickly. Datsun Competition Dept supplied it's favoured teams with many experimental parts that were never sold over the counter. 1200s had alloy drums and calipers fitted as wellas the alloy diff heads from the wagons. Alloy large capacity radiators were also offered. Quick ratio steering boxes in alloy have also surfaced. Cast alloy front hubs were also tried. A lot of these parts were fitted and passed off as stock and even now the factory isn't too keen to admit to their existance. It is also quite likely some of these parts were manufactured by race teams themselves to gain an edge on the competiton. One of my favourite pastimes is tracking downs leads on some of this extremely rare Datos history.

Thanks Stirlingmac. I was hoping that you'd reply to this thread. You really seem to have the finger on the pulse in regards to these more exotic items.

Cheers,
Chris

 Re: GX Drums
if it's special it's most likey on a Kpgc 10!!!

Nah I don't know, but notice the key hole like hole in those? the steel drums don't have that so mabey it's suppose to be for acsess to an addjustment thingie which the origional car would posess.
