your better off having them parallel and with adjustable rose joint to set the pinion angle

And for when you go up a drive way or something on the angle there going to have alot of load on them

to me that setup doesn't really look strong enough especially with a ca turbo motor, i had a race car with a 3 link setup and it used to just tear the brackets where they were welded and it had a na zx12 motor with 200rwhp. i reckon you need to try mount some brackets off the chassis rails or somethen if your gonna do it the way you've got it

I`d be a bit nervous about being rear ended and getting that rod shoved through my back.
Yes, use tube. Maybe mount them out wider and locate them under the rails and perhaps use longer tags on the diff. You might have to go under it.

Good to see people thinking and trying to work things out rather than following the crowd. Keep it up!

EDIT: If you wanted to leave them there maybe just swap to tube and weld some large plates on the rear bulkhead for reinforcement and to prvent the tubes comming through in an accident.

cheers boys of rthe info the mounts are 3mm plate so their thick enough and the tube is solid 22mm bar and the ends are same with just hollow with cut down nolithane bushs and wont be welding thate brackets on the back of cab until is sitting at ride hight. . and i was going to make them adj just later. . see how these go for now but any more ideas would be helpful cheers

Laney, you would have a stronger set up if you used heavy wall tube instead of the bar. Solid bar will bend far more easily than tube.

I think you'll be snapping welds and punching holes in the cab the first bump you go over.

Use thicker plates for mounting them and thicker bars, I would also rose joint the ends for adjustment, if you raise or lower the car you will need this.

And then mount them like this so they move with the suspension.

 Re: Laneys 1200
have to agree, when the diff/suspension goes up those bars will be attempting to either push the diff back or twist it over backwards...

and the end result will probably be the other end of your tramp bars trying to get through to the cabin

I too agree, your tramp bars must be horizontal with the plane of the spring in the normal "on road" position, even then you will get spring bind in the upper and droop position of your suspension travel, they must also be beefy and adjustable in length.
You might also fit a catch strap near the front of each bar, cause if one was to break at the front at speed and strike the tarmac it is possible to jack up the rear of the car and send you end for end

Adjustable for ease of manufacture(believe it or not)and fitment, also to finely adjust and move the bind issues associated with daily drivers with larger travel.
I find mine are getting more refined with each new set,and continue to learn from experiance

hahaha they really are midgets arent they

dont think theres anything wrong with having them where they are, but i would set them up so that they are horizontal when the car is at its normal ride height

as they way they are they will be trying to push the diff back over every bump
