Cheers, I thought 3 years from purchase to near completion was not too bad... I don't think they are ever truly finished though.

Hopefully it goes as well as it looks!

This is a few shades darker (or deeper) than the colour on my B10!

Looks neat, when do you plan to complete it?

Have you done much to the L16 in terms of performance mods?

Chris

Ahh the photos do make it look pretty good! Theres even unground welds in someplaces, and I found some unsanded filler today.

The photo here makes it look a little greener than it is... I was after a real dirty grey, its a bit too blue.

The L16 has been taken apart and put back together with new rings and bearings, new timing set with adjustable gear, billet cam (Cam Timing is 38-76-76-38, Duration @ .050# 247

 Re: L16 1200
looks like a good candidate for a ka24e hybrid if you can get the L16 re-sleeved to 87.5mm (with notched valve grooves) and use a L14 crank with custom 28mm pin height pistons, L20b rods with such pistons will make the rod/stroke ratio 2.211, which will easily rev over 10K rpm and 1587cc.

Could you not get a rwd ka24e from one of the utes and rebuild it with L series internals?

Looks fantastic mate.

I'm assuming they are 13" by 8" Superlites?

Do you know what the offset is?

Cheers Matty

 Re: L16 1200
but D, what sorta timing cover would you use for KA head onto L16 or L18, as all the Z series ones are taller
thats why you only ever see it being done to L20b's im pretty sure
and isnt the compression ratio way too low with the KA head?

but atleast now i know how to mod the CA cam angle sensor to the L series....now who was it that said the CAS had to be modified coz it spins backwards?

 Re: L16 1200
13x7's actually. I have remeasured the offset as I had stated it was -21 at some point, they are -7.

I'll be happy with the SOHC, I have too many cams and race parts that I want to try in the future, if someone wants to research and build me a hybrid feel free to donate the time and money!

Timing cover would have to be cut and shut, I'd perfer the KA bottom end with a high compression sohc head.
