There not a factory item well not in your average street A12 A14 they allow the car to rev harder with out valve bouncing for one. Also im more talking double valve springs never herd of triples till now.

multiple springs offer different harmonics between springs stopping floating..

i've got a couple of heads with double valve springs but i never heard of triples?

you can see why the guides are so important and the wobble the springs get up, hence the multiple springs are different rates and "wobble" at different times..
