the clear bushing always wear out and the shifter flops around. The trans shifter seal and tunnel seal make your 1200 quiet once again. The bottom (white) bushing does not usually wear out.

Re: Shifter Repair Kit What is the difference between the small boot and the large boot? Were they for different models?

Re: Shifter Repair Kit Both are used at the same time on a 1200.
The small boot goes in the transmission at the shift lever. The large boot goes in the floor sheet metal at the shift lever.
If your 1200 is missing the large one, once you fit one, it will be oh so quiet. The small one is mainly to keep dirt and water out of the gearbox.

Re: Shifter Repair Kit Thanks for clearing that up DD. I am missing both. I did not realize there was two boots per vehicle.
