Nice toy & you are off to a good start.
I suspect that an "L" series engine will be more grief than its worth. They are perfectly good engines, but probably not the best choice in a 1200 chassis.
I suggest that you look at other options, including a sweet, but strong "A" series like an A14 or A15. These swaps are good value.

I'm partial to the A-engine myself, but several club members with L-engined 1200s are very happy with them. There's no way an A15 is going to outperform an L18 or L20B for the same money.

thanks for the compliment man . In fact, i only got this car back from the painters. It used to be coloured in a light grey/green primer for the past 3years. its been brought back from the dead. if you look in my profile you'll see what it looked like a month ago.
