Re: Ca18 datto 1000 race car awesome to see! how does this thing go? Are you converting from carbs to EFI? Have you had it on a dyno? I started doing a similar conversion a couple of years ago. I used a ford telstar distributor which is actually a mitsubishi unit too I think. I did mine slightly differently, I machine the dizzy housing to go into the CAS housing and shortened the dizzy spindle. Used a dizzy cap with the leads coming off the side at 90deg. The dizzy cap base was almost flush with the front of the timing cover so it didn't stick out too much. Unfortunately got sidetracked and never got the thing running. Might revisit it at some stage...

Re: Ca18 datto 1000 race car hey there it is efi, the four trumpets you see are from the quad throttle bodies, havn't had it dyno'd properly but it won the under 2 lt sports sedan class in the nsw hill climb championship last year and has won two esses descents at mount panorama outright against wrx's and evo's, so it is a good toy. still trying to work out the injectors, i had them pointing in the end of the trumpets but got too much fuel spray reverting back out, half way down the trumpets is the next idea

Re: Ca18 datto 1000 race car awesome little rig you have there! if you run sequential injection you should find the fuel problem you have should disappear

Re: Ca18 datto 1000 race car thanks, i thought about sequential injection myself, but most of the problem is when its off cam, seeing it has huge overlap cams in it, it has alot of intake reversion, thinking if the injectors are further down the trumpets and i build some kind of intake box it might work

Re: Ca18 datto 1000 race car can you run two sets of injectors, one mounted by the port in the factory location and the second out past the trumpets, and have the second set turn on at a point past where the reversion effects are forcing fuel back out the trumpets? I know it's possible with link ECUs, not sure what you're running
