Waiting for Head - Almost seems a shame to cover it all up! |

Re: Pistons in Block Yeh, That's right... Was a Det and I'm using standard, but prept rods - have been told by many that the CA rods are fine. Forgie's are probably always better, but that's what I could afford at the time. It's only going to be a fun street car running about 16psi or so... It's .5mm oversize.

Re: Pistons in Block looking good! i run a similar setup in my sr and actually was advised by my engine builder to use the nissan rods with rod bolts rather than getting aftermarket items so it was a choice not based on the money for me (they worked out similar in price)
definately well overkill for a 16psi street car, but we all start off by saying that ;)

Re: Pistons in Block for $500 for a set of rods with arp studs wasnt complaining. getting the arp studs and having them fitted to the CA rods would be half that anyway. and they look so much cooler
im also only planning on running about 14psi, whatever a t28 is happy with really, but i figured that i might as well built it all right the first time round

Re: Pistons in Block yeh, That's a good price nick... can't argue with that. That's not too far off what it cost me to get mine done! And mine won't look as cool as yours - Lol.
So that's true Lag's... nearly the same price. and yeh, we'll see how long I'm happy with 16psi - Lol.
My mechanic mate built a RB30/26det with standard rods and forgies (and a few other mods) and happily made over 700rwhp for 2 years before pulling it off the road for a set of mini tubs. Mmmmm - Nissan engineering.
