What a wimpy tunnel You need an Auto tunnel!

Definitely don't hack up the choke cable. I've got one at home..just in case I decide to go for some choke equipped DCOE webers on a future car.

Although with fuel prices going up 3% in the past 2 days.. I may never get the chance. The fuel price increase is a result of the 1million barrels a day cut in production from opec.

my wallet might be getting much lighter if the fuel rises heaps, from these barrel shortages

HAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAHA When I put in my CA18DET the tunnel got introduced to a 600mm Iron Bull shifter I had no troubles with fitting the CA after that.
Keep up the good work
Cheers

But of course!

Unless I can come up with a more subtle way to do it

Although "bashing with a hammer" does sound dodgy..Engineers would rather see that, because almost all types of welding heat treats the metal surrounding the weld, and can create weak points where fractures can occur, and weakens the general structure. Plus you don't need a welder.

Sledghammers are cheap

I'll keep everyone posted on what comes off the car that I wont need....maybe it can help pay for this ridiculously expensive race car project.

Appreciate the response though, good to feel wanted....if only for my choke cable.

I'm sure at this point I could come up with plenty of jokes involving women , choke cables and feeling wanted....but feeling a bit slack today!

Once I get everything organised into "I want it" and "Hmm...I think I'll sell that" I put up a couple of big pretty posts, full of glossy i images of GX parts that must go!
