Re: turbo set up and a14 motor 4 sale.
I was just looking at this pic and how its a draw-through setup and it got me thinking. With this kind of set up how does sucking fuel through the turbo affect it? Is the front seal fuel rated or do you have to fit a special one for the application? Does the fuel slowly damage the front turbine and is there enough heat transfer from the rear housing to the front to evaporate the fuel as it passes through? If anyone could answer some of these questions that would be great. I'm just a little curious is all....

You would have your turbo fitted with a carbon seal for petrol draw through application. There will be some fuel evaporation as you would expect for a setup such as this but it will be compensated for by modifying the su needle to flow a heap more fuel to combat the issue. With a dwaw through setup like this it takes a fair bit of tuning to get it right but the end result is usually pretty good. The only dwawbacg being that you have to run relitively low boost as you can't cool the intake charge effectively unless you use a water/methonol setup which is where it can get expensive. This is why blow through is much more popular these days. Easier to cool and in the long term easier to maintain.
