Re: Dist Advance Linkage Wear Does anyone else have this little linkage piece oval out like this? I've replaced the vac adv can a few times and the hole continues to oval out and the pin on the breaker plate wears away. I have the vac line connected directly to the intake. I do run a larger cam and I'm suspecting the vacuum pulses in the intake are causing this accelerated wear. Seems to last about a year.

Re: Dist Advance Linkage Wear Sounds like a likely cause, usually the Vac advance is ported. Is it connected to just one runner? Single carb or otherwise?
If it's single carb you could try moving it to the carb base area and putting a restriction in the line to filter out the pulses.
If it's multi carb then you might need a vacuum manifold (a tube to each runner connected to single pipe) to the dizzy. Stick a vacuum gauge in the line and see how much it wobbles and fiddle till the wobble is better.
