datl_do, it sounds like you are not asking what the highlighted parts in the digram are, but what jet sizes you should use. Jet sizes differs by year, model of car, model of engine, and country, sometimes even different states differ.

For specific jet sizes, see the Hitachi article: http://datsun1200.com/modules/nsections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=34.

1/ The fuel jets are #3 primary and secondary
2/ The choke tubes are those two things that diagonally cross the bore before the venturi (they are removable)
3/ The idle jets are #6
4/ Oh, and #1 is the accelerator pump jet and not the air correction. The air correction jets are #2 and screw in on top of the emulsion tubes.

Beware that these jet sizes are only a guide and it is still only a trial and error process with different engines. These carbs are generally too rich for an A12 if you are using this engine and problems low down in the rev range can occur with small main jets and such a large venturi.

It would be wise to consult a manual and understand the theory of carburettors such as these before beginning to play. Trust me, it helps alot.

so if i used these jets, it could be the reason why its not workin. when i ty to start the car, it will fire and i can hear it sprayin fuel, but it wont run at all; full throttle or no throttle, its an 82 model if this helps, also are the primary and secondary idle jets different lengths? because i used

50 - primary
55 - secondary

when i got the carb, it had 55 - primary, 50 - secondary so i swapped them, is this bad??

thanks again, Nathan

Nah, it's not the jets. It should run either way.

They also have almost nothing to do with idling, so will it idle? If not, then something else is wrong. Maybe a vacuum leak ... either gasket, or diaphragm or incorrectly assembled parts.

I would put it back together as it was (put the jets back in the original spots), but check the flatness of the carb top. against a straightedge. The top of the carb body and the top cover should be absolutely straight. If you can see warpage, it often won't run correctly even with a new gasket.
