Nah thats the one photos of that particular set-up, there maybe photos of other similar set-ups, just do a search you should be able to find some interesting set-ups that people have done.

hmmm well that got me thinking about my sunny. i want to turbo it eventually but want to do it low cost and as it will be my daily i want not heaps of power but something that will be a bit more fun with the a14 that is going in it

hello steveo im just starting the build and wanted to know if does it works well whit this setup? how to control psi ? can i use the stock exahust tail ? from where can i get the oil presure for the turbo? and how many hp cani make whit this

To control boost, this particular turbo has a wastegate attached. You can see it in the right side of the photo.

How many HP? This was an experiment, a home-made design. I don't know that we were given a HP figure. But generally without a intercooler you can do 5 lbs boost. So instead of 69 HP, you might get what, 1/3 more HP? That would be 89 HP. If you fit an A14 cylinder head. A12 head won't put out that much HP.

To control boost you need a 'Boost control valve' wich is connected in the hose that connects to the wastegate, as DDgonzal pointed out.

This set up would work reasonably well, but its not the best set-up, but it would be an ideal 'low cost' turbo set-up for a daily driver. It's a simple and easy design that uses OEM parts and is a great way to learn how turbo systems work and how to fabricate manifolds etc.

Oil lines can be run from the oil filter housing where the oil pressure sender is located.

With a setup like this you could run 8psi on a stock engine, as for Hp? the sky is the limit! depend on how much cash you spend on the engine, but on a stock A12 you would get around 90Hp as DDgonzal stated, thats only an educated guess of course it all depends on several factors.

I don't think it would have a great deal of torque, but it would be an improvement on the NA application.

Using a set-up like this is very restrictive so the performace numbers that are gained would only be limited because of that fact. Need a better exhaust manifold for starters, not a 'J-pipe' setup, a 'log' type manifold would be better.

i like it because i drive my ute all day and is not a racing engine i just want to have fun and is cheap too. check out this video i just found it is the same setup

very interesting use of the standard air filter. But thats the idea, you can't get anymore simplier and easier than that for a blow-through setup.

It well worth having a turbo system! if i do say so myself!!!!
