All I did was buy some seat covers, steering wheel cover and fluffy dice. And replace the carpet (it was damn ugly blue and grey)with black.

Seat covers, steering wheel cover, fuzzy dice, & cracked dash. It sounds like most of the cars i have owned.
The towbar in the other photo makes it a REAL driver, & protects from some parking incidents. Lookin' smooooth

My 1000 sedan still has it's towbar & it was used quite a bit.
My best memory was pulling out to pass a near new VC Commodore traveling up Osullivans Gap Pass when heading north to the Northern Rivers area one year. I was towing a smallish wooden boat that was packed with the outboard, our tent & all of out camping gear. The tyres rubbed on the guards over small bumps. The car was also loaded fully & carried two people.
I slipped it into 3rd of my 5 speed & let it run to the red line. I rounded him up on the outside of the long sweeping, & reasonably steep climbing turn [double lane] while his young teenage son was urging him on from the back seat.
Victory was so sweet.
[This whole mountain has since been by-passed]

I remember thinking, "My Datsun might not be new, or have the newest design stuff [we call it technology these days] but it runs well & is definately NOT second best."
This was in the years "BC" [Before children]

Fit your towbar & use it, just dont overload it & remember that towing requires a less spirited driving style. You will love it.

Some towing tips:

- don't slip the clutch, just make a quick driveaway. Take your foot off the clutch pedal right away as in normal driving.

- If the engine doesn't lug (low rpm) or overheat, just keep the fuel pedal down. The A12 can take it. Don't let it get to the actual H mark if so you need a bigger radiator, but it can get close for extended periods.
