a freshly serviced and shaved A12 head on top of the A14. The (slightly) lightened flywheel is also from my old A12. Cpmression is expected to be around the 9 or 9..2:1 ratio

on the street a round port might not be bad... more low end torque, etc...

I have one it's pretty responsive off the line, still seems to want to go when the rev limiter cuts in at 6250, been meaning to raise it a little. I can feel the power peak lower than it might otherwise, but i planned to turbo and the smaller ports won't hurt that much, and with the right turbo i have boost at a lower rpm. if the torque peaked at 3-5k with a turbo that would be nice, car would be very fun to drive.

I've done an A14 with Roundports, If your not looking for Bulk HP i think it will be fine for the street, I'm running a Single DHLA40,
time will tell if it's ok.. :)

Why did you go with a circle port head instead of an oval port one?

hey Lobster Ive got an a12 head thats been worked (dubble valve sprngs, port polish larger valves) and im thinking of building up an a14 and im thinking of using the head to save some $$ is it a waste of time or will it be ok? I have an a14 oval port head thats standard but Ive spent $$ on the a12 one and dont really want to do it all again.

Why go the round port head ? Not long before I started the rebuild of the 14, the ehad on the 12 decided it didn't want to play anymore... enter a new head that had never been faced, repaired or anything... It seemed to make no sense to put more oney into another head when I have this one, plus I can use my current manifolds, etc as well as the increased compression. If the A12 head wasn't anything special, I'd have gone with the oval, but it is a matter of playing the cards in front of you I guess

If you keep that A14 below 4,000 rpm, my guess is that the round-ports will be better.
