what sort of setups are the cars allowed to run?
we need something like this in australia! good cheap close racing.. though maybe 1600s would be a better choice.
they would make for better racing than the lumbering whales of HQs that are supposed to be 'budget racing' class now.

Now there's an idea, lets destroy the few 1600's that remain,.. in greater numbers,.. & at a faster rate than ever before. Racing has a way of doing that.

Street is neat, blokes. Lets keep them there.

I agree..far too many 1936 fords were destroyed by the unthinking "smash-up derby" boys in the 50s and 60s. As were there too many good Valiants and XB/XC Fords all sent to a similar fate in the 70s and 80s.

Racing is fun, but when you can't get the parts anymore, you have really got to do it carefully. Why not race a Mitsubishi Mirage or a second generation Hyundai Excel,They go OK, and I wouldn 't feel bad about smashing one of them up. How about a 1600cc MX5 even? They can be bought for $7000 - $9000 these days.

ps. If I lived in Japan..I'd be drifting an S13 for sure....

Guys i agree to an extent, but my coupe was all but, the body was rusted and ready for the wrecker when I bought it. At least I gave it a second chance. i would have made for a very expensive street restore. I dont like Magnas and Excels and would have to make up quite a sustantial budget to make them go, stop and turn corners. At least with the coupe I have so many other parts I can swap off other derelict Datsuns. Now I know where there is a completely original stock coupe and im bugging the girl to sell, but I would never race that car...it belongs on the street.
