Re: A14force Yeah it will have a hole in it. I'm sorta thinking that the air commin in will sweep over the s/c and perhaps help to draw some of the heat out of it.( It's a well known fact that roots blowers make alot of heat. They certainly make more heat than the whipple type s/c.And when the intake sharge heats up too much, detonation can become a factor.)

Re: A14force surely having fuel pour through the blower at the velocity it is travelling at wuld cool it down enough?

Re: A14force Yes and no. Depending on how fast you spin it,it will make more heat. The bigger the blower the slower you can turn it to make the same boost.Once you spin the blower too fast the blowers abadetic effiency drops off , and the intake charge heats up . If you have to spin it faster to get a bit more boost, you will reach a point where although you are gaining psi the higher temp will actually mean a drop in intake charge density. and when the charge gets hot detonation can occour.
