that is a very immaculate lokking 1000. no deluxe badge under the 'datsun 1000' badge??? have you sold both these cars???

Your're right.
You know, i had never given it a thought. The original boot was rusted out a bit & this is a new one. I bought the new badge because "it was there" I don't remember if the skin was pre drilled [making it a standard boot lid] or if we copied the positioning of the badge from my 4 door.

I suspect that the original DeLuxe badge was probably missing from this one, otherwise i would have noticed it & re used it, or got a new one.

I still have one more of these badges new. [don't ask]

Nothing like a fresh loooking, shinny and clean lense. You can have a car all nicely painted, but if the lenses are crapped up, it looks like a fake, like something is not really that good. On the other hand, a burnt paint car, but with brand new looooking lenses, looks as if the car is still good, all it needs is paint, if you know what I mean, like a person, a woman nicelly dreesed up w/ dead red shot eyes, drunk/smoked, whatever, will never look healthy, but clear eyes , iris over snow white eyes, look like you want to look at them more...
