This is a cool example of a 4 door GX.
Congratulations on keeping it looking so good.

This is why I said that light colors are the best for Datsuns.

Definitely modify your Avatar to use this better photo.

Chris

My Avatar one is so crappy due to it being a photograph that I scanned.
This one is taken with my girlfriend's digital camera.
Muuuuch better quality.

Thanks for all the comments.
I hope to keep my datsun this good for a loooong time to come.

light colours look good on Datsuns because they keep them looking factory, as would any shade of brown, sky blue or tan would too.
I mean how may purple refleco orange metalic combo fully sick paints did you see in the 60's 70's. none

Beautiful Car, Beautiful Colour.
A mate has a cadilac convertible in the same colour.

The logo on the wheel center caps look like American Racing Wheels.

Btw, I saw plenty of full-on color paint jobs in the 70s -- in California. But I know what you mean.

But DD how many of these paint jobs came standard.
If your after a modified look-cool paint it orange/purple harlequin.
But i think and i believe many others love the standard sleeper look, i dont need neons, six amplifiers, a tv and a playstation for my datto to be the coolest thing on the streets. I think DatA15's footnote says it best 'Classic not Plastic'.

wheels look awesome - i love that dish look

and what the hell does BTW mean. is it below thread wrote???"

Yes UTE18L, I agree with you. I'm keeping mine white, it has that stock feeling. It is also low-profile (draws little attention).

"btw" is standard email abbreviation for "by the way" ... it's been in use a lot longer than "lol" which is another one.

Re: My 1200GX after a hard wax job
i knew the laugh out loud one, i should know these things cause all i use the computer for is email and Datsun research.

When i respray i want a standard looking colour, but i cant make up my mind, white is the only colour i can say i would be happy with now and happy with in 5 years time, but what turns me off this is i see a few white utes around the place. My favourite colour at the moment is the metalic grren Chris Shoesmith is using on his sedan i would love my ute that colour but he has beat me to it. I think im just going to go through an old holden catalouge and pick one of their 70's colours, they shouldnt be hard to find and will suit my intended style on my ute. Or i could go some trick modern white with some silver metailc in it (not pearl) for just a bit of shimmer.

Just an update on the mags.
They are Racing Heart Concept.
The mags name is Rocketeer.

With painting your datsuns.
I would say stick with the original colors they came out with.
Or use a color that you have already seen on a datsun.
This way you will be sure it will look nice.
I once went to take a look at another sedan that I wanted to buy for my girlfriend to drive in town.
When I came there the car was resprayed in BLACK!!!!!!!
I smoked the tyres just to get away.
It looked like crap and I was furious for someone to do that to a Datsun.
I later found out that the car was originally babyblue color.
