This is my me at the second round of the Autosport Cup, very dusty and we ended up breaking both engine mounts, which made the extractors hit a heater hose and cooked the head, warping it, doh.
Good fun though!
Won my class, woohoo!

Great fun! What are you going to do for replacement motor mounts? I'm not too sure the stock mounts are up to the task for rallying.

Wasn't there a double mount conversion?
It involved extending the mounting brackets, both chassis & engine ones, either foward or backwards, & using a second mount.
Installing new mounts instead of 30 year old units is usually a good idea too

ive come to the conclusion the mounts arnt upto the ob of rally/autocross etc.

i broke another last week, i've tried new and 30yo, no diffrence really, i think ill try that bolt through the mount idea that limits the extension of it

they always break the same way, both left and right, top metal plate breaks off the rubber, not sure what exactly causes it though, i.e. shear or stretch

 Re: Autosport Cup Rnd 2
yeah i agree that the standard mounts arnt up to the job for rally, ive built chains around the mounts so if they do break the motor doesnt go far, but i havent had a chance to test them in a rally situatation yet, but on the 11-12 Septmeber im doing a rally ive done for the past 2 years so well see how it works.

As for autocross they seem to hold up on the smoother events, but on the rougher tracks they dont last, ive only ever used new mounts as well!

If anybody is interested in service crewing for the upcoming clare valley rally in South Australia on the 11-12th of September, just sent me an email. Its a great way to learn how a rally runs!

2 Litre Mazda mounts, Mid 80's 626? 929?

Big round bastards like they use in the rotaries. An almost bolt in. They have a cup which limits movement/breakage. I actually ran a solid mount for a week, had run out of standard ones. . . They don't transmit and mor vibration than standard ones.
