Haven't been on here in a while, but here is a picture of my dad's street car.  It has a 772 c.i. motor with dual stage fogger.  He is still looking for his first six second 1/4 mile pass.

He actually has driven it on the street quite a bit. It can cruise an easy 10 miles...Just has to stop and fill up the 1.5 gallon fuel cell. We actually do have to complete a "cruise" while racing in some Street Car shootouts.

A six second street car. Ummmm,... if you say so.
I would like to see it driven about 10miles to the drag strip, past a Police officer who knows his way around the motor vehicle code.
That would be really cool.

fastest 'street' car in the world runs a 6.40 i think from memory - runs a destroked big block with quad turbos in a mocked up camaro body.

america has some really lax road laws that allow a drag car to be driven on the road in some states. i know one guy i used to buy a few parts off for my RX2 a number of years ago now was in Texas and he had a sidecar off a motorbike he had stuffed a harley engine into and a mini rack and pinion steering and had himself a licensed-for-road-use buggy!

I've always wanted one of these. I saw one that was slammed to the ground with late 80's Mustang 5.0 wheels and tires. Looked good. Add to that Ford's turbo 4 banger and you're good to go.
Oh...
a fuel cell and a reinforced rear bumper would be a must also.

Somehow it looks bigger than 771 cc.

61 cubic inches per liter, so 772/61 = 12.6 liters. What?
