Yeah, the struts on the tonneau cover are custom made, so that it automatically opens. Its just that its not all aligned correctly yet (plus l need to fit the electric solenoid). I've been dreaming for years of having it open automatically. Just a gimic but l like it!

The doors are actually opened by a mechanical linkage that runs to the top of the door. It has a small aluminium knob on top that blends in with the chrome trim.

Pretty easy to make, just welding up the door is the hard part!!

The tonneau cover is bolted in (6 bolts), so it can come off, but l'll be leaving it on permanently.

Also, for $500 l could almost shave the door handles, make the linkage and get the doors at least prepped for painting if not painted. Though thats not using door poppers, but still looks very similar and is street legal.

Where do you get that kit from?? Imported from the US??

Its before the car got painted, but l'll post it up later. Its only a photo of the outside so it doesn't explain much, just shows the knob.

If people care enough, l'll do a full post on how to do it, while l'm fitting my central locking.

Has this guy been shopping at autoloc? I have been getting prices for the solenoid door kits and hydraulic split lifter for a tonne cover. Big fan mate, keep it up.
