ok,that answers my question about how good the shell is.no every.ok,in some of my posts about diff ratios,I've said the plate has told me what diff ratio the car has.the plate in question is on the bulkhead above the transmission tunnel,in the centre of the photo.the last line usually says transmission type & diff ratio, ie
fw4c56 ha38.this means it's got an a12 4 speed & a 3.89:1 diff ratio.look for this plate on any datsun in a wrecker & it'll tell you what it should have.i say should, because someone like me could have owned that car,& god only knows what's in there now.in c20 vans it's in the pasenger compartment,in the earlier ones it's on the righthand side b pillar under the seat belt,in the later ones it's under the right hand side seat, under a flap in the carpet or vinyl.unfortuneately, this is true only for japanese assembled cars,so australian bluebirds don't have this plate.

A B310 2-dr wagon? I'd like to see a photo of one in good condition.
