This is my coupe at the car hospital. It is undergoing some reconstructive facial surgery after an unpleasant incident.

 Re: Making progress
Once completed, the repair should be undetectable. The donor car was another coupe & many thanks to B310GX & his mate for the help they provided in helping me to get the front cut from it out of the wreckers.

How do you think it would look in a darkish shade of silver? A full 2 pack paint job is coming, so if it is going to be re-coloured, now's the time for me to think about it.

 Re: Making progress
Front apron now fitted & the previously damaged, but totally rust free bonnet, is about 80% done. It is progressing faster than i can keep up with, in the photo taking department.

Current thinking is for a grey colour more than a silver as all the silvers i have seen are too light.
The current 350Z comes in a Pewter that might be suitable, but i would like to see it in the flesh first. The Platinum from the same car is a bit too light for me.
The Daytona Blue, Burning Red, & Le Mans Sunset are really nice,.... but not this time round.

I'm told that these colours were specially formulated to withstand the temperatures generated by near re-entry speeds generated by the 'Z', so it should be about right for my coupe

A nice dark grey/silver..with a handful of "white ice" in the clear coat. The chromework highly polished..whoah.

I'm gonna go have a cool drink.

When it,...& I,... am ready, & not before.
I do not rush these things in order to meet some deadline.

P.S. Thanks for changing your avitar, i found it offensive.

 Re: Making progress
After many years at looking for a metallic silver to match chrome the only one that I like is an pre 65 Porsche 956 silver and Mercedes pre 72 silver as on 72 Pagoda coupes and 280ce coupes. Nothing else I swear comes close to matching chrome like these versions do. I can only just imagine how fussy and complicated a process it must have been for German Ergonomic Design engineers to arrive to the most aesthetic of Silvers. The psychological games they must have played with each other to a majority vote would have taken longer than designing a new bloody holden.

These 2 German silver shades highlight curves while matching chrome in such a classical mode that they make most vehicles scream out prestige and makes you stare at the panels for hours. They also change according to the sunlight making it look so moody that you respect it like being chained up at the ankles to a temperamental heat seeking warhead.

Just go to some classic German car show days and other French and English Car show days and you will see the difference in silvers.
