I have three undamaged bonnets, but the original [damaged] one, is the only one that is completely rust free, so the nice car doctor is trying to repair & stiffen it. The spots on the bonnet skin are where the internal frame was welded to it. They were originally glued & the glue is always broken. Now it will retain all the strength it had from new,... & then some.
The bonnet still needs some work on the left side at this stage.

The right guard was not damaged in the minor prang that disabled this car. It looks to have been damaged in a previous incident, & the repair was less than it should have been.
We will repair it proper;ly, but i may still use my new right side guard & keep this one for a spare.

All looks to be going to plan then.

I cant wait to see this car on the road.

Is it going to be stock or a giant killer?

Isn't funny how us older guys are busy building stock looking sleepers and the younger guys are going for the spoilers and big wheels and drainpipe exhausts.........I know I've done a 180' and getting a bigger kick out of restoring a Datto..which is harder than stripping one out to be a racecar. Once you get the nice paint everything else looks average and needs replating ,new bolts, screws etc.. And all the 30 year old plastic trim is looking pretty tired as well.
