Once the damaged original panel was surgicaly removed, i was able to remove enough damage by hand to make it a repairable proposition, so i will keep that one for future use if necessary. It looked really crook, but wasn't as bad as we first thought.

The welding along the front edge of the bonnet is where the internal frame was re-attached after it had been removed to allow for repairs. It is now fully sealed along this edge, so i will do a full rust preventative treatment on the whole car, including here, before it's finished. The inside of the chassis is also totally rust free & i plan to keep it that way.
