This is my old coupe, it has the usual bored out A15 twin forties, 5 speed, front disks etc.

Bought it as a one owner and in some ways regret ever modifying it.

You cant recreate originality.

Dattomans kit is simplicity itself. The only truly custom made parts are the hubs & Caliper plates, & these are parts that do not normally wear out. The brake hoses are semi custom as they are replicas of the Mazda /Fraud Laser part, but without the mid line mounting for the donor cars strut.

Everything else is prety much a stock part, either Datsun [M/cyl & rear wheel cyls] or brand X [caliper overhaul kits, pads, & rotors]

Drop him a line & he will tell you what you can source locally to save freight costs.

Originality?
Original is cute,... not fast, but cute, & it can be fun as well.

It looks like the wonderfull Datsun 1000 is geting a little more attention of late, & this can only be a good thing. Being the senior sibling of the 1200, it's time they got a little more attention & respect.
B10's may not actually "rule" but their leadership qualities are the equal of any. They take sass from no one.

Looks really nice in the picture... do you still have or another now?

Also... what brake setup did you use? I definitely want to upgrade before I put any other engine in.

Hi 2332,
It does look good in this picture. It was 100% standard back then. I bought this kb10 off Andy (Sidedraught), and I sold it back to him a few years ago... He still owns it today, However he has since fitted a 1600+cc A15 race engine, a 5 speed, and some other goodies.

When I had it, I fitted some Chrysler Sigma brake calipers and a mix of 120y/1200 rotors and hubs. This brake combo works OK, but it has some problems. I would recommend using the disc brake combo and pre-made brackets that someone was selling on this website. (I forget who sells them). I still have a soft spot for 1000's, but as far as disk brakes are concerned my current 1200 was so much easier to sort out.
James.

The only plus about "originality), is that you get to bastardise it your way.
