Re: The things you find. [Steering wheel hubs] No 2 son has a 120Y & No 1 son advised me this afternoon that he is casting about for a 1200. Looks like it may well stay in the family.
EDIT Sept '06 The 1200 steering wheel is the factory 1200 'coupe option' wheel. There were three different steering wheels & not two as I had thought when I first started this thread. They are, ..........
Stock Coupe option. GX

Re: The things you find. The hubs These are both factory steering wheels & the hubs were made to fit one model only. The 1200 one originally had the plastic inserts in the spokes as the marks where they were previously fitted are still visible, so i am speculating that it is an early 1200GX wheel. I have a picture of another 1200 one with black spokes & no inserts in the slots in the spokes, so i'm guessing that there was a running change during the 1200's production.

Re: The things you find. The hubs The hub on the right with the straight sides & the closely spaced pins is my 1000 one, while the tapered hub on the left with the wider spaced pins came from a 1200, so it's probably just a 1200 GX one. Can't help bad luck. The wheel itself & the horn mechanism look to be the same though, so will serve as parts for mine if necessary.
