This is my current powerplant in my 1200 Ute.. Its a stock a12 except for the genie extractors and a 2" exhaust... it has the original 4spd behind it....

ok guys im looking for suggestions on engines to convert into my green 1200 ute...

most of u have seen pics of it....

what do u guys think it needs???

obviously CA18 and SR20 n/a or turbo engines are an option... so i will save u suggesting them...

any other ideas to give my ute the HP it deserves??

E15T would be something diffrent and with a bit of work pretty cool

factory injection/turbo

a-series box bolts up, but a dellow converted celica box or 63a maybe needed for good power

feral knows plenty about em

just an idea thats diffrent to the usual

i have been tempted by this one but never really 100% convinced, the stock kw is not great and this concerns me a little, but further research could give a simple reason for this

my ute is not a daily driver..... so fuel consumption isnt an issue... however i still want a degree of reliability...

but im looking for some decent power..

100+ kw at the wheels...

N/A FJ20-they sound great and there aren't many 1200's with them, even in turbo guise.

And if you can find the the right head, bore it out to 2.4 to replicae nissans hypo race engine. ( i did see oje for sale somewhere recently-big bucks)

But non turbo is the way to go, to keep people guessing, however they are more expensive to get huge power figures.

ye u get a 13b with a turbo smart external waste gate and a garet T 04 to go with it n providing u get traction ull be standing on the back wheels past 5.0 V8s. thats what a 1200 ute deserves. i love em
