On this ocasion, R-Fast had the quicker car......I might have a chance if I can sort out the gear and diff ratios for this circuit....

Ahhh it makes a man feel proud to see that a few thirty-something year old Datsuns can still set the pace for both style & performance. These Datsun 1200's seem to be the car that the comprtition cant roo* shoot or electrocute. Long may their performances rein over the lesser competition.
Good on you blokes.
Edit
It looks from the results, that the "Boss" in car 215 was doin' OK too, with a fastest lap of 53.05 secs. Gotta keep those Datsuns on the move. Some projected developments should lower these lap times a little more in the near future. Lesser marques are advised to hide in the weeds.

Thanks for the link Datman !!!
If Chris gets that coupe going any faster he will have to get a pilot's licence . He does know how to peddle it quick, has PLENTY of horsepower and the Toyo Proxies help out a little too I'm told. One day I'll get close, one day ...........
Well done to Benny for first time back after a long layoff, and hopefully I'll get a run against Paul next time. C'mon now Craig, get that car out to the track next year so we can all have some fun revving each other up !!
Cheers

Craig,

You will need a L2S licence to do supersprints.

Both are A-14's on Webers......nothing special really, not yet anyway.

The only moded parts on my engine are double valve springs, FIA grind CAM and lighten flywheel the rest is stock std. valves, ports, pistons & crank. The little bugger still revs freely at 7600RPM all day long

With stock bottom?
Does'nt it have engine vibration at those revs?
My poor A12GX I cannot take past 6000.
Between 5500 and 6000 it starts to make a hell of alot of engine noise and vibrations.
Redline is at 6700.
How the hell can I get it over my heart to take it that far?

Good to see someone FULLY enjoying the datsuns as it should be.
I wish I could do it.....

 Re: Startline
things that will help achieve higher reving:
- ported/flowed head
- Elec dizzy and higher power coil
- good set of carbs (aka twin webers help quicker higher reving)
- decent cam (mild/toruqe)
- twin double valve springs (gx head)

these are all the things on my A14gx motor which used to rev to about 8000rpm, and after I installed the new Elec Dizzy and coil got around 9000 .

No point Reving this high but, maybe only for a bit of fun everynow and then but

If the bottom end is balanced.....like your latest build will be im sure,
In theory the A12 would rev easier than the A14, having a shorter stroke, its diffinately up to the job..With your roller rockers, fresh head etc I reckon it would be good for at least the 7000 RPM bracket.........But its for your road car, so whats the point. I would rather have an engine thats lasts the distance in a road car than trying to extract every last bit of power.

But, maybe you can rev it hard once or twice just to know you can do it.
