1.5"s with a 4 bolt pattern and a weird shape also to fit the aircleaners.

I gotta confess that i have never seen these before. There seem to be plenty of vacuum fittings on these for the original smog equipment.
The conventional type electric choke is unusual to see in a Variable Venturi carb, as is the "D" shape of the choke butterfly. Very odd, but i suspect that the electric choke is another smog compliance item that is intended to eliminate the situatioin where drivers leave the choke out too much & too long, thereby pumping unburned hydrocarbons into the atmosphere.
Very shrewd are those Datsun engineers,... very shrewd.

I too would like to see just what these were originally used on.

I thought it was strange also how it has an air choke as well. Su types are usually fuel only chokes. Also the return springs are on the shafts. No need for external return springs.

just saw this ...

* Yes, those are A14 carburetors, from the 1976-1977 JDM B210 with A14T (twin carb) engine
* from the GX-T B210 (the GX came with Single Carb)
* the electric choke improves emissions compared to drivers who leave a manual choke on too long
* The small vacuum motor on on each carb is the choke pull-off. Otherwise, the same number of fittings as the 1973-1975 A12T twin carbs
