i just got my fly wheel back from the shop today i wish i had of got more off now
only took 2.5 kilos of mine it cost me $60

$60 jeeze that sux i got mine done with all my engine and on the invoice it says it cost $46.85 and they took 4ish kg off mine!
Is yours the standard cast A series flywheel?

yes it is the standard 1200 flywheel
its probebly just as well he didnt take to much off just yet because it will be going on my standard a 12 while i am building my a14 .I dont want to rob to much torque from the poor littl 1200

Strickly speaking, the engine creates the torque, and light flywheel will not rob the engine of torque. It's more about a heavy flywheel [spinning mass] is harder to accelerate / de-accelerate. So to speak, a heavy flywheel would be better for coasting along [crusing] compared to alight one...

Does anyone know of anyone in the brisbane area that can machin(lighten) A-series flywheel?
I presume any machine shop with an NC mill could do it, but how much do you take off and where? i recall seeing a digram posted on this site some where, i think dodgeman posted it, i think?

Nice looking dude, how much does it weigh?
What A series donk it going in and what A series flywheel is it?
I got mine done too, was 9.8kg now 5.2kg...all balanced aswell so should ruun a treat! Whats the application for this??
