Re: 2-dr sedan vs HEMI I'm guessing that by the stance & position of the two cars that this was probably a handicap race. Was the Hemi car towing a Kenworth?

Re: 2-dr sedan vs HEMI Let's see: 400 hp in a 1640 lb car v 600 in a 2800 lb car ... the Datsun had a power-to-weight advantage. More information on the 1200's engine L26 is here: [edited picture] Ron Folck's L26 inline six

Re: 2-dr sedan vs HEMI ^^^ that pic doesn't look like a l6 unless i'e forgotten how to count.
The datsun may have the power to weight adavantage and a few feet head start, but the hemi is still flat on the ground ( must be the big heavy motor )

Re: 2-dr sedan vs HEMI Look at the christmas tree. The hemi has the the handicap. The datto has left and the hemis light is still orange. I suspect the hemi is probably more than 600hp and has a huge amount of torque up its sleeve too.

Re: 2-dr sedan vs HEMI The hemi could easily take the win in that race , with a wheel stand like that the datto could get lose very easily.
