For those who wanted yet another step up from the ordinary, with a level of apointment not previously seen in such a low priced car. A class act all the way.
Thats extraordinary.

For me & my car, the issue is black & white, & that how it's goin to stay,... black vinyl top & white body. It's truly inspirational.

Where would this one be marketed ?
Seems to have odd tail light lenses
I didn't think they sent them to the US in coupe form. Despite my old orange covered parts manual (that I can't find) listing them as avail LHD.

Oh and I'm thinking of painting my white coupe Tuxedo Black

The Datsun 1000 /Sunny was not marketed in the US in any form, although Sedans were sold in Canada.

The tail lights might be diferent because they are the JDM version. They did not seem to use the amber blinker lens in their domestic market models, but we did. The front park light /blinker lens is amber though, while ours are white.

If you can find your parts book you will find that all the other body types were available in left drive, but not the coupe. It was right drive only.

The GL must therefore been a Japan-only model as i have not yet been able to find any other country where the KB10 was sold except Japan & Australia.
Doesn't it just reek of exclusivity. Not your ordinary car.

Interestingly, the 1200 coupe seems to have been available in every market where the 1200 was sold, even if the model range was severely limited, such as in the US where the only other model on offer was the two door Sedan. It is probably, in a global perspective, the most popular 1200 model of all.

They "seem" to be red in the photo, & i have other Sunny photos, sedans included where the blinker lens seems to be a very diferent colour to our Aussie ones. Ours are clearly a diferent, amber colour. I guess i had better look very closely.

It's easy to see this is no ordinary car. I particularly like the elegant lines of the bumper.

Agreed, in North American the Coupe outsold the other model (2-dr sedan) 2:1.

And it's easy to see where Nissan got the inspiration to create the perfected coupe: the KB110. They started with the exceptional KB10.

Although I seem to recall the Portugal (spiritual home of the 1200 2-dr sedan) got all 1200s except coupes.

Well, you might have me there.
We see so many 1200 coupes from so many countries on this site that i couldn't recall not seeing some from Portugal. It seems that the 1200 was very popular there, so i wonder why they didn't offer the coupe, even at a later stage of production.
Seems unusual to me because business is business.

hello.

We have some Portuguese coupes, but they are in low numbers.

We have more coupes from Mozambique and Angola than Portuguese ones.

As far as I can tell, this GL badge is the only item that left I need to find to convert my DeLuxe into a GL. If I am successfull, I will try to register it as a Sunny GL.
Wish me luck.

It looks as if the 1200 coupe was actually sold in Portugal, but not in any great numbers. As I wrote earlier, it would would 'seem' that the Coupe was the only body style to be offered in every market that the 1200 was sold in. At least, that's the way it looks so far.
