new custom made frt control arms ,adjutable for camber and caster, adjuster adjust same as tie rods can be adjusted without removing.
also note modified stock sway bay for adjustability

i modified the sway bar myself
the control arms were made by an engineer I race with. I installed them and did all the set up and relocation of innerpick up points for better angles and travel

wow, that's a high roll centre! This is very different geometry to what I'd use for circuit, but I guess the tight twisty, low speed nature of auto-x courses is a very different thing.

still concerned about bump steer though. personally, I'd be taking the thicker of those 2 strut blocks out (looks like there's 2). did you move the control arm pivot upwards too?

edit: duh - its up on a hoist. forget my comments about the rollcentre! impossible to tell what it wil be from this pic. wheres the embarrassed emoticon???

Hmmm sure does look like the inner control arm pivot has been moved up. I have never seen front geometry set up like this before and I have seen plenty.
Something for you to consider - because you have hard mounted the front of the castor bars you should keep a check on the mounts because they have a tendancy to crack either around the flange or along the inner chassis where the mounts meet the chassis.

It does look like there is potential for bump steer, but would taking the block out improve that at all? I would have thought bump steer (if there is any) would mainly be induced by the relationship between the lower control arm and the steering arm. It looks like this has been changed by the new pivot point but not by the blocks......

yeah, you're right. it all came out a bit jumbled up. removing the block will lower the roll centre to a more 'normal' height. The bump geometry can be helped by lowering the pivot and/or lengthening the control arm.

the more I look at it, there may be a bit of an optical illusion involved with the bump geometry...

edit: duh - its up on a hoist! forget the roll centre comments... where's the embarassed emoticon???

Bobs 1200:
I'm interested in the reasoning behind these mods:

The spacers under the struts are presumably to drop the ride height, but why move the lower control arm pivot point up?
With an adjustable control arm you should be able to dial in a fair bit of camber, so there's no need to try and get the pivot point closer to the wheel as people do with street cars

Edit: just had a look at the rest of the photos- You should be able to dial in a fair bit of camber with those adjustable strut tops as well!!

When car is on the ground ride height is 2.25" at the floor pan I had to raise the inner pick up point to get the correct geomitry to increase neg camber on compression. I will post a new picture soon that shows how low the car is, Ialso had to chanel the rear frame for suspention travel

lovely piece of work, Bob.Wish I could use a setuplike this upfront in my racing series...unfortunately I have to keep the lower control arms standard....

I think you're onto something harry, unless the steering box has been moved up by the same amount as the inner end of the control arm, the bumpsteer will be horendous!

Re: new custom adjustable frt control arms
the bump steer is present but the steering arms have shortened and the most of bump steer has been removed by bumpsteer spacers
to lower the balljoint location and steering arm also pitman arm and idler arm have been raised by bending and heat treating
the bumpsteer wil be completely removed when I install a rack and pinion asm for a honda

Re: new custom adjustable frt control arms
Are there any issues with the swing angle of the bottom ball joint?

Normally the lower control arm and the radius rod are at the same height relative to the chassis so that the bottom ball joint travels directly up and down when viewed from the side (I think..... either that or they are matched to the castor angle) By increasing the height of the lower control arm pivot point but leaving the radius rod in the standard position, the bottom ball joint will be relativley further back (looking from the side) at full droop and further forward at bump, changing the castor angle (silghtly) through the arc of the suspension travel.

Does this cause any problems or is it too minor to worry about?.....
