Question about machining

Anyone know how much it costs to get a block bored out? I have no idea, also how much can you take out of an A12... I am assuming you can get it to at least 1.5l right? A12 and A14-A15 have a similar cast?
Just more meat between cylinders on an A12 or am I way off?

I think I might like to turbo EFI this motor, it will be cheap for me cuz I can fab it all up at work (I work in a machine shop as a welder).

I just want a solid bottom end to start with but I dont want to spend much money.

Any help would be appreciated, my knowlage about engines starts to dwindle when you get into machining and modifying.

Werd!

Totally different. The A14 & A15 are a bigger block, about 3/4 inch taller to help with the longer stroke. The bore is only a little bit bigger.

The A12 has a sold bottom end to start with.

thats right the bottom end is strong , the short crank supported by 5 main bearings gives little flex
put good rod bolts in it and the best pistons you can afford.

Any ideas on pistons.. what to get?
My idea is to eventually fuel inject and turbo the A12, but im only going for a little boost, not too much... I can end up bending my pushrods right

You don't need to change the rods or pistons at all, for a little boost. It'll handle five pounds no worries.

how much boost do you think these engines can handle (as stock) 7-8psi safely?
Its always good to know.
