The block has had steel main caps made to allow bigger ARP main cap bolts to be fitted for higher RPM operation. The caps were then tunnel bored to suit the block. It uses Nismo light weight lifters and has larger oil return galleries. The inside of the block casting has been de dagged and all fluid flow openings or junctions have been radiused and flow path improved.

I thought my 38mm inlets and 33mm exhausts were big.
I run 24cc combustion chambers.
Wonder what block mods are done and what the bore diameter is ?

It's a nice engine. If I had a third 1200 for an authentic racecar rebuild, I'd think about offering you some cash for it. But commonsense tells me it's time I got my current projects finished. It's time my garage had more running cars than project cars..

I was reading about this engine on your company website. Thanks for sharing the info on it.

Cheers.

Chris,
I believe this is about the same spec they ran the 1200's in at bathurst in the 70's, but without titanium rods and valves.
Cheers
